iSpineCare
iSpineCare is a 3D animation library of spine anatomy and pathology movies that can be used to increase the quality of your patient education, while decreasing the time involved in delivering it.
iSpineCare can be shown to your client in the chair or on the bed during the consultation, in the waiting room, in the ER, and in the ward, via your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.
INTRODUCTION
Using verbal descriptions or still images for patient education is inefficient and often ineffective in conveying dynamic joint function and the evolution of complex pathology. These weaknesses are amplified when addressing an un-educated audience in a time-poor, resource-limited setting, in a demanding medico-legal environment.
Patient education in the 21st century needs to use the mobile digital technologies to provide optimum client, clinician, clinic and insurer benefits.
FEATURES
iSpineCare provides rapid, mobile, reproducible spine anatomy and pathology education. Our movies allow you to quickly show:
- how disc herniation leads to spinal stenosis or nerve root radiculopathy
- how annular disc tears lead to nerve ingrowth and chronic pain
- how lateral flexion of a degenerative spinal segment causes nerve root impingement
- why nerve root impingement causes limb pain
- how facet joint pain can be stopped with a medial branch nerve block
- how cervical rheumatoid degeneration leads to fatal spinal cord compression
- how poor posture causes muscle tension and pain
- how a tight iliopsoas causes increased lumbar lordosis and anterior pelvic tilt
- how pelvic muscle contraction lifts the pelvic floor sling
- and much more.
Simply tap on the simple menu structure to quickly navigate through the movie library. Tap on the movie's name to play the 10 to 150 second movie. Use the scroll button to jump ahead or back to the particular segment you require.

REVIEWS
The following are reviews posted in the App Store from users around the world.
Great for patients
'I'm a fellow in Georgia, I love this program for the patients, rather than a model, it's easier to show with the animation exactly why they are having the problem they are having. It takes usually 30 seconds to show, and they feel rather satisfied to know why they may be having the pain.' NY Georgia Pain Doc
Neurosurgeon
'I found this quite useful in explaining pathology to patients. Addition of thoracic region is a must. I suspect that animations of actual surgical procedures will not lag far behind. I would like to see how you treat the subject. Impressive!' !spine.com USA
Great app !
'I have had this app for 4 days and have already used it twenty times to demonstrate various spinal pathologies and anatomical details to patients. It works quickly and the animations are crisp and detailed. As a chiropractor I would not hesitate to recommend this app to all my colleagues in the spinal care specialities as a wonderful alternative to pointing to a chart on the wall. Patients love it! Bakdoc1980 USA
Great app !
One of the doctors in our practice has been using this on his iPhone for awhile. It's great to show patients what's going on. The larger screen on the iPad makes it even better.' ChrisCub USA
iSpineCare
'I have played with this app and found it very useful for any professional involved in spine care. The animations are first class and importantly anatomically accurate. I am a spine surgeon and can demonstrate various pathologies to patients on my iphone. This is a very useful application for physical therapists, physiatrists, pain physicians and spine surgeons. This would also suit nurses and PAs involved in spine care and patients as well. The speed of loading is good and there are a plethora of animations. Overall, for the right user group the cost is justifiable given the paucity of material that's out there. Well done! +++++' renodoc USA
'Thanks for a very useful app. Patients for informational purposes only. As a projection TV with cable connection also be used. Very good for professional use.' Guvercin Turkey
Much Better
'I like the fact that they seemed to respond to the reviews. The "Key Image" section is a good addition, as is the "Lumbar Pathology" section. I believe this is from "Down Under" judging from the R hand steering wheel and the accident :) Well done Mate!' wktune USA
Thanks
'Very practical' Artayeb France
